Como no te voy a Querer?

The Clausura 2009 league champion was crowned today as Pumas prevailed over the Tuzos of Pachuca, away at Hidalgo stadium, with a two-goal draw to win the final series with a 3-2 aggregate.

I am glad that Pumas won because the Tuzos deserved to lose at home after having stolen a semi-finals match up against my beloved Chivas youth squad. Remember with me if you will the Clausura 2006 season. Pachuca had won the first leg (2-1), at the Jalisco stadium, and seemed to have the series in the bag since Chivas would be missing many key players for the return-leg.

Then Chivas, true to themselves, shocked the Tuzos with a 3-1 score that had them eliminated. That was until the match official decided to extend the three minutes of overtime into five-plus allowing the Tuzos to score and level the aggregate (4-4) and advance to the final with their better league standing.

Since then I have grown a hatred for Pachuca. They have also managed other upsets but I will admit those were because they got lucky. As for Pumas, even though they have a mild-rivalry with Chivas due to Vergara’s marketing schemes, I cannot hate them. They have always been Chivas feeder club even if they will not admit it.
