A last minute goal from second-half substitute Jose Reyes gave San Luis a much needed two-nil victory over Libertad of Paraguay allowing the “Gladiators” to sneak into the Copa Santander Libertadores finals.

Having only achieved two points out of a possible twelve, in their first four games, the “Gladiators” Copa Libertadores campaign seemed destined for failure. However, San Luis managed to win their last two games of the group stage, combined with Universitario of Peru choking in their last game, to advance to the round of sixteen.
